Details
The making of a high quality botrytis dessert style is a very natural and organic process. If you don’t have the right site and conditions it doesn’t matter how good the winemaking is - it just isn’t going to happen. Riesling was one of the first varieties planted in the Kayena Vineyard and since the first vintage in 1998 has proved itself supremely well suited to the site with wines made from the variety winning a multitude of trophies and gold medals at major Australian and international wine shows.
Colour - bright, mid straw. Nose - an intriguing array of aromas with apricots, marmalade, pineapple and hints of tropical fruits that gives additional lift and interest. Palate - a luscious, mouthfilling wine with great viscosity and intense flavours of pineapple and marmalade. This obvious sweetness is balanced by fresh acidity that prevents the wine from being cloying and helps give length to the palate.
