Charles has been the driving force of the South West Wine Trade for over 30 years. Before he established Charles Steevenson Wines back in 1987 he had a career in Hotel Management that has shaped his work ethic ever since. Few people in the wine industry know more or convey it with more enthusiasm and passion than Charles. With his undiminished enthusiasm he can always be relied upon to understand and anticipate his customers' needs and enjoys longstanding working relationships stretching from West Devon down to Cornwall.
When not with a bottle in hand, Charles is normally sailing in Plymouth Sound.
Liam Steevenson MW
Liam joined the business last year as a consultant to ensure that we have the right wines, look and feel to take us through the next thirty years. Liam became the youngest Master of Wine in the world back in 2004 and has gone on to consult and manage businesses all over the world.
Away from work...well, when is he not working?
James has been selling wine for Steevenson Wines for as long as we can remember and still has boundless enthusiasm for the role. He delivers incredible service and customers frequently comment on his care and attention. Although James has a brilliant wine knowledge his real passion is spirits - don't ask him about gin unless you have a lot of time to spare. Covering an extensive sales area from North Devon up to Dorchester and Somerset, he is always on the go.
Away from work....we refer you back to his gin passion!
Mike is everywhere, we try and slow him down but it's not easy. If this was a one man show, then Mike would be the man. He runs the operations, creates the computer packages, writes the wine list, answers the phone. Maybe a history in Hotel Management did this to him, but the man does not sleep!
When he's not at work you'll find him up on the moors walking his dogs or down at the coast discovering new paths. And come the festival season, he's off in his van to let his hair down!
Sales Support Manager
Lauren joined the team a year ago and has completely transformed our customer service levels. Dedicated to ensuring our trade customers get what they want, she has a brilliant relationship with everyone she works with. A wine fan, with a huge desire to learn more, Lauren pushes all of us forward with a constant desire to be better.
In her spare time, Lauren's life is a heady mix of the outdoor, fine wines, meals out, and small dogs...it's all on Instagram if you are interested!
Steve has been here from the beginning and remains Charles's right hand man. Always first in to the office, he plays a fundamental role in our wine selection as well as ensuring the right wines go out at the right time. Renowned for his palate, what he doesn't know about wine isn't worth knowing!
Away from the warehouse Steve runs, cycles and swims. In quieter moments you'll find him indulging his passion for cricket or walking his Jack Russells.
Cornwall, West Devon and Private Client Sales
David has joined Steevenson Wines in 2018 to look after our clients in Cornwall and West Devon, having sold wine with enthusiasm since he first job as a sommelier in 1987. Living in Cornwall still, he has a passionate regard for the liquid in your glass - whether that be fine, fun or fizzy (often all three) - and enjoys tasting, writing and inspiring others on the subject.
But it’s not all work for him: he can occasionally be found racing rowing boats around the waterways of the South West, or quietly indulging in our spectacular local seafood with a lobster pick in one hand and glass of Chablis in the other.
